Dijon entered the era of numerical with the “PANDA” (access point numerical of Dijon and its agglomeration)! They are public places where we can connect ourselves to Internet and to be even formed there.

The PANDA fall under the general policy of the town of Dijon which wishes to make our city, a numerical city!

The schools were equipped out of computers connected to Internet (84 schools since 2001, 600 computers), a new Internet site was born (www.dijon.fr), of the newspapers of electronic information were installed in the city (it is nevertheless better than stops it with ear), of terminals Internet in free access (place grangier, place darcy, place Emile Zola,… etc), as many concrete signs!

After the era of the glaciation (which nevertheless lasted 30 years with the ex-RPR municipality = UMP), we entered since 2001 the era of the numerical one! It was time!

Dijon develops! It is enough to raise the eyes and to look at the cranes which multiply: business district clémenceau (beside the Auditorium), new residences boulevard of the Marne, the district of Grésilles (media library, CNFPT, DRASS, ARH,… etc), the district of Pouilly, the Junot district, the operation Renan avenue of Langres, the zone of activity of the Valmy park. As many building sites which show than Dijon makes up for its lost time residences public equipment.

In the past, under the old municipality ex-RPR (UMP), Dijon built few residences with moderate rents and built districts with few public equipment (cribs, village hall, rooms for the young people, town halls of district,… etc). Dijon makes up for its lost time as regards residences with moderate rents (15,36% in 2004) but the old municipality had not left a glittering assessment. It is enough to walk in the district of the Golden Fleece to see the result: many private residences but few utility services.

In the field of the public equipment, Dijon also makes up for its lost time: Media library of Grésilles, Village hall in Grésilles, Town hall of district in the North of Dijon, House of district with Fontaine of Ouche, Zenith, Centers of the Clémenceau businesses, Olympic Swimming pool, Skate-Park.

It is thus another way of seeing the city, a city which is concerned with good being of its inhabitants. There are two visions of the city well: that of the future which wishes to develop the city, that of the last one which prefers anything to make, to preserve without developing.

The President of Large DIJON, François REBSAMEN, presented the project adopted for the future Olympic swimming pool of Large Dijon. Until now, we were one of rare the large towns of France not to have an Olympic swimming pool.

In our city, the last swimming pool goes back to 1976…. The old municipality ex-RPR (UMP) did not carry out a swimming pool during the 25 years which followed 1976 (either until 2001) since it directed the city during 30 years.

One will say to us that the project was already in the paperboards before 2001 as for all the projects carried out today by the new municipality, but eternal question: why not have done it front?

François REBSAMEN, Mayor of Dijon and the municipality of Dijon set up the exemption from payment for all, all the year, for the Dijonese museums: Museum of the Art schools, Museum of Sacred art, Museum of the Burgundian life, Garden of sciences, archaeological Museum.

This decision makes it possible the greatest number to have access to the culture! That also instigates tourism in Dijon.
